United Way Launching Civic-matchmaking Volunteer Program For Retirees in Stark County
Foundation: Stark Community Foundation
"They are a very large, active group of talented individuals with experience, expertise, passion, and for the first time in their lives - their time. This program offers retirees a wonderful opportunity to channel their talents and skills."
Those are the words of Angela Perisic, executive vice president of resource development and community impact at the United Way of Greater Stark County in Ohio, per the Canton Repository.
Give 5 is a new volunteer program that aims to connect soon-to-be-retired and retired individuals with volunteer opportunities in Stark County.
It's specifically for baby boomers, people born between 1946 and 1964, and in Stark County, there are almost 75,000 people 65 and older.
The program runs April 21, 28, and May 5 from 8:30am to 4:30pm at United Way, and participants can sign up for the first class at uwstark.org/give-5.
