So says Elecia Smith, executive director of the IDEALS Institute at the University of Arkansas, which has received a $2,185,000 grant from the Walmart Foundation and the Walton Family Foundation to help 35 nonprofits in Benton and Washington counties boost their diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

The second phase of the "Uplift" initiative, led by the IDEALS Institute at the University of Arkansas, was launched on March 29, 2022.
