Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel has declared July 8 to be a national holiday for all Cubans to mark the country's 50th anniversary of independence from Spain, reports the BBC.
The country's official news agency reports that Diaz-Canel made the declaration at the end of a two-day workshop on agricultural innovation held at the Cojimar Convention Center in Havana.
The purpose of the event was to share the results of research and the best experiences to strengthen agricultural production chains, reports Cuban News Agency.
