Family Support Navigator
FAMILY SUPPORT NAVIGATOR
Seaway Valley Prevention Council is seeking a full-time Family Support Navigator. An ideal candidate will have direct, personal experience with substance use disorder services, be comfortable talking about that experience, and be confident modeling principles of recovery and wellness.
Responsibilities include working with people in both one-on-one and group settings, assisting families struggling with addiction, establishing connections to community-based activities that enhance wellness, recovery, and social engagement, and efforts to make the community aware of this program. This person will provide individuals and families with linkages, referrals, and information regarding community providers as well as support to family members navigating the substance use disorder services. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively with individuals with a substance use disorder, family members, hospital staff, and community based agencies.
Minimum qualifications are a HS Diploma/GED, preferred qualifications Bachelors or Masters in Behavioral Science, personal life experience with recovery, and the ability to support multiple pathways of recovery. Candidate must satisfactorily complete required background screenings. Familiarity with the Recovery Coach Academy and/or other recovery training's are preferred, but not required. Current NYS driver's license and a reliable, insured car is necessary as this program will operate in St. Lawrence, Jefferson, and Lewis counties.
