The Whitfield Education Foundation is holding its annual golf tournament Monday in Dalton, Ga., and it's using the event to raise money for teacher grants.
The foundation's executive director, Smitty Barnett, tells the Dalton Daily News that the money raised will go toward "the funding of innovative teaching grants in the Whitfield County Schools system."
Among the items up for bid in the silent auction and raffle: a YETI cooler and a 36-inch Blackstone griddle.
The items were donated by local hardware store Elder's Ace Hardware, and tickets are $10 and can be purchased via the foundation's website or via Venmo.
The Whitfield Education Foundation is "very lucky" to have Elder's Ace Hardware "in our community," Barnett says, adding that the store has "been a huge help in funding grants for our teachers over the years."
